We have a lot of really crafty and talented folks up here in Rogers Park. Painters, performers, sculptors and more dot the neighborhood with their skills and charm. One has but to visit any of the local coffeehouses to see not only their fine works on display (at Common Cup, for example), but also these artisans themselves hard at work (Been to knit night at either Evil Squirrel or The Glenwood yet?). It is an exciting time to be living up here among such capable neighbors! We recently came across a pretty sweet blog maintained by local gal-about-Rogers Park, Dawn Marie Hamilton. Dawn’s site is called “I Crochet in Bars” and it records her travels about the city as she deftly wields her hooks and yarns. You have got to check it out!
Dawn is a talented lady to say the least. She crochets, is involved in the theater, and even sings leads for a local band named Glory Chain. Glory Chain is playing a benefit gig at Evil Squirrel Comics on Saturday, February 4th. Why not go check them out and support a local business in the process?
Thank you, Dawn Marie, for helping to make Rogers Park such a great place to live! You have been BURPed!
